Walter Manor Sr.

My great grandfather served in World War I. He is an inspiration to me, and somehow I feel I have a connection with him even though I did not know him. My Mom says that I look like him, and that I have some of the same mannerisms that he had. I find it both eerie and awesome at the same time. Last week my family discovered an old cassette tape that has him speaking. It was truly awesome! I could only hope to turn out half the man he became in his long journey through this life!

Great Grandfather's Pocket Watch

I found my great grandfather’s pocket watch in an old chest in my grandmother’s house. It was broken for many years, but I was able to have it fixed! I elect to take it with me sometimes, and it always gives me comfort. My great grandfather was a great man and lived a long life(according to my Mom). I want to live a long life of adventure and learning. I want to experience different cultures, countries, beliefs, food, and life! I want to “Disturb the Universe!”

“Do I dare Disturb the Universe?”

-T.S. Eliot

When I was younger I knew exactly who I was, what I believed, and I had every detail of my worldview sorted! Age and experience have shattered my world, and a new phoenix has risen from the smoldering ashes! I have transformed from a child who knew everything to an adult who knows nothing. The journey continues…
